Welcome to The Funky Furniture Shed — where every piece of furniture is handmade with love (and a bit of sawdust). These terms explain how everything works when you shop with us. Have a read before ordering, and shout if anything’s unclear!
1. Who We Are
We’re The Funky Furniture Shed, a UK-based workshop crafting rustic wooden furniture and home décor. You can find us online at www.thefunkshed.co.uk. We currently sell within the UK only.
2. The Nature of Our Products
Each piece is made to order — shaped, stained, and finished by real humans (not robots!). That means:
Timber is a natural material — you might see knots, cracks, colour variation and little quirks. We call it character.
Your furniture might look slightly different from the pictures — especially colour tones. Screens lie, and no two pieces of wood are the same.
We do our best to match your selected options, but every item will be beautifully unique.
3. Placing an Order
When you order through our website, you’ll get an order confirmation email, and we’ll get to work.
We accept secure payment via:
PayPal
Apple Pay
Klarna
Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
…and any other methods Shopify lets us switch on.
Full payment is taken upfront.
4. Lead Times & Delivery
Each product listing shows an estimated lead time — that's how long we need to build your item before it’s ready to ship.
Delivery is via reliable couriers and usually arranged once your piece is ready. Please note:
Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees (handmade takes time).
Check your order ASAP — any damage or issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery so we can sort things with the courier. Snap some pics and email us at funkshed@outlook.com
5. Can I Cancel My Order?
Since everything is made to your order, the usual 14-day “cooling-off” period doesn’t apply — but we do offer a little flexibility:

Once production’s started, we can't cancel unfortunately — your item is already in progress (or glued to something). More about our cancellations and returns here.
6. Returns & Refunds
Because everything’s made just for you, we can’t accept returns if you change your mind.
But if something’s wrong — it’s broken, faulty, or not what you ordered — we’ll put it right. Just contact us within 24 hours of delivery and we’ll fix, replace or refund depending on the issue.
7. Guarantees (or lack thereof)
We don’t offer fancy warranties — just honest craftsmanship. Your rights under UK law still apply (e.g. for faulty goods), and we’ll always treat you fairly.
We aren’t responsible for:
Timber doing timber things (like seasonal movement or minor surface cracks)
Damage caused by storage near radiators, damp walls or unkind cats
Stuff going wrong years later if you’ve mistreated it
8. Handmade Means Unique
Wood is a living, breathing material. So:
No two pieces are ever exactly the same
Colour tones, knots and textures vary
You may see a little movement as your piece settles into its new home — it’s all part of the charm!
9. The Legal Bits
Everything on this site (photos, logos, descriptions) belongs to us — please don’t copy without asking.
This site and these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any legal disputes will be handled by the courts here.
